How to Update Edevy Plugins

Keeping your Edevy plugins up to date ensures you get the latest features, compatibility fixes, and security improvements.
Here’s how to easily update any Edevy plugin on your WordPress site.

Automatic Updates via WordPress #

1. Enable Auto-Updates (Recommended)

  • Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
  • Find the Edevy plugin in your list.
  • Click “Enable auto-updates” (on the right side of the row).
  • WordPress will now automatically update the plugin whenever a new version is available.

Manual Updates from the WordPress Dashboard #

1. Dashboard Notification

  • If an update is available, you’ll see a notice on your Dashboard → Updates page.
  • Check the box next to the plugin and click “Update Plugins.”

2. From the Plugins Page

  • Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
  • If there’s an update, you’ll see a yellow notice under the plugin.
  • Click “Update now.”
  • Wait for the process to finish—your plugin will be updated instantly.

Manual Updates via ZIP File (Pro/Downloaded Plugins) #

1. Download the latest ZIP file from your Edevy.com account.

2. In your WordPress dashboard:

  • Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
  • Find the plugin you want to update and click Deactivate, then Delete (don’t worry, your data/settings will remain).

3. Upload the new version:

  • Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  • Choose the new ZIP file and click Install Now.
  • Click Activate Plugin.

What if I have a license key? #

  • If you are using a Pro version, make sure your license is activated. This allows in-dashboard updates, just like with free plugins.
  • If you see a license activation prompt after updating, simply re-enter your key.

Troubleshooting Updates #

  • If the plugin update fails or gets stuck, try refreshing the page and updating again.
  • If you see any errors, contact Edevy support with a screenshot and description.

Why Should I Keep My Plugins Updated? #

  • Get new features and performance improvements.
  • Fix bugs and ensure compatibility with the latest WordPress version.
  • Receive important security patches.
